Donutman+Poketo in one day!
So I finally tried Donut Man. Poketo and EN always raaave about this place on their blogs, so I decided to try it on my way home. It was HEAVEN. How did we(or was it just me) not know of this place, growing up in the neighboring city of Diamond Bar?! Too bad I live way too far away now, but perhaps I’ll come back with friends every time I visit DB.

I also dropped by the F#%K Cancer, We <3> Justin Silent Art Auction/Benefit at Poketo. I’ve always admired the Poketo business for striving to make art a more accessible way of life for everyone. Them using their showroom space to help out their friend and using their connects with artists to involve others for a good cause was even more admirable. I respect the couple a lot for their efforts in the ‘art world’.
Bid sheet. Their latest tweet reported the Shepard Fairey piece to have sold for over $4000, Jeana Sohn’s workfor $450, and Jim House for $500+. Awesome.
Ran into artist Jeana Sohn. Been a fan of her work and blog, so meeting her in person was quite a treat. She’s so nice! I was at a loss for words, even though I have so many questions to ask her and tell her of my encounters with her work. I managed to ask her, out of my nervousness+incohesive thoughts, about the gold paint that she used in some of her paintings. She was nice enough to explain exactly what type of paint it was and how the properties of that paint went well with the image she was trying to convey in her paintings…or something that nature. I was too nervous to listen carefully. Idiot.
