Labor Day Weekend

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

Ah, the luxury of a three-day weekend, how I’ve missed you so. Why’d you have to pass by so quickly? Went back to work today and, you know, it sucked. Co-workers asked me what i did and I didn’t know which fun part of it all i should highlight so i summed it up like this:

the first day i spent alone, unwinding and relaxing at home.
the second day was spent with a bunch of people, bbq-ing in my backyard and eating ice cream and what not
the final day i spent with a small group of close friends, picnicking, watching movies and eating more good food.

oh, can’t forget to mention that i started off the weekend by going to an Earth, Wind and Fire(works) concert at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday. That was pretty cool too.

i have a secret…

Saturday, September 4th, 2010

You know how in the TV show “Friends” Monica is a neat freak but has that one secret closet where she stashes everything she doesn’t want to deal with? hehe, I have one too. Yes, I have a secret closet. Today i found in there a mountain of all my clothes, shoes, receipts, change, shopping bags, crepe paper, composition notebooks, auto parts(!), books, bras and other random things.

Whenever guests come over, I just hurriedly clean the bathroom and kitchen and pick up everything lying around the house and shove it in the closet. And when I give house tours, I allow guests to roam freely in my little apartment but mention politely that the closet is off limits.

I’ve held off too long to clean this closet and decided today was the day that i was going to get that clam and refreshing feeling of having an orderly, color-coded closet that i’m used to. So i woke up this morning and started on this arduous task… but ended up listening to music, checking email, making breakfast, blogging (twice), flickring…… I’m the best procrastinator there is. I even went on Craigslist to look up cleaning services just so I wouldn’t have to do this myself!

And that darn procrastination…. I now have three hours to clean the closet then the whole apartment, take a shower and get ready, then run a million errands before I have to head to work tonight.

If i don’t hustle soon, I’m going to have to tell others that I spent my 3-day weekend cleaning my closet. How sad!

me time.

time

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

When did I turn into that person who sneaks out of a party at 1030, right before its getting started? Shit, I must be gettin’ old.
Meanwhile, old age must mean that all my experience with alcohol is paying off….three shots of crown and im chillin’. My tolerance is finally good enough but I don’t have the energy or time to test it. So sad.

/>

Visited a friend's new place in Hollywood last week. It was nice! I wondered what it'd be like to come home to this view, entertain guests with bonfires on the roof and work out everyday at the gym. Oh, and I can't forget to mention the convenience of walking to all your favorite bars, clubs, cafes and even super market. If i were to live in someplace like this would I take full advantage of all the amenities that the building has to offer? Or would I just get stuck in the humdrum of everyday life and just use the home as a resting stop between work and play?
<p style=

I wonder this from just a mile away, in my spanish bungalow that rests on a tree-and-lamppost–lined street. No fancy amenities here but a one-port garage to store all my crap. Oh, and three walk-in closets. This is fine with me.
